The Buzzling Forests Book Review: Showcasing Conservation Stories from RLU’s Forests
On October 12, 2024, Royal Lestari Utama (RLU) and Birdpacker Indonesia hosted The Buzzling Forests book review at the IFI France Embassy in Jakarta. This event welcomed students, environmental communities, and NGOs, sparking meaningful discussions about biodiversity conservation.
Featuring insights from Karmila Parakkasi (Chief Sustainability Officer of RLU), Swiss Winasis (Author and Founder of Birdpacker Indonesia), Riza Marlon (Wildlife Photojournalist), and Willy Ekariyono (an Ecologist), the event highlighted the rich birdlife found in RLU's forest concession areas. Notable species include the White-rumped Shama (Murai Batu), Bornean Ground Cuckoo (Tokhtor Kalimantan), Blue-headed Pitta (Paok Kepala-Biru), and Helmeted Hornbill (Rangkong Gading).
Through this event and the book, RLU reaffirms its commitment to biodiversity conservation and forest protection, ensuring the sustainable production of natural rubber that safeguarding both ecosystems and local communities.
